AI that's actually coded.

Built for small businesses across New Bedford, Dartmouth, Fairhaven & the South Coast
A short manifesto

Five things I believe
about AI for small business.

These aren't marketing slogans. They're the reasons I started JusCoding instead of joining one of the agencies I keep cleaning up after.

01Tools

Your business doesn't need forty-seven AI tools.

It needs one or two that actually work, integrated cleanly with the systems you already use. Every additional tool is a future failure point you're paying monthly to maintain.

the rest is expensive theatre
02How it's built

How it's built matters more than what it does. For systems that have to work, this isn't negotiable.

App-stitching tools are great for testing ideas. They're not great for the system answering your phone at 2 a.m. when a frustrated customer is yelling about a missed appointment. Real software, written specifically for your business, doesn't fall apart the moment something unexpected happens.

i've watched too many app-based stacks die in their first month
03Plain English

If I can't explain what I'm building in plain English, I shouldn't be building it.

Jargon is a tell. If a consultant can't make their work understandable to you, it usually means either they don't fully understand it themselves, or they're hoping you won't ask the next question.

ask me what an LLM is. seriously, ask me.
04Ownership

You should own everything. Day one. Forever. No exceptions.

Everything I build lives in an account with your name on it. The phone numbers are yours. The customer data is yours. If I disappear tomorrow, your business doesn't stop working. Anything else is a hostage situation with extra steps.

most agencies "own" your system. that's not a partnership, that's a leash.
05Reality

If it works in the demo but breaks once real customers use it, it doesn't work.

Real customers don't behave like demos. They mistype, interrupt, change their minds, ask weird questions, and call at 3 a.m. on Christmas. The system has to handle all of that. If it can't, you don't have a system — you have a liability.

i'd rather take an extra week than deliver something that embarrasses you
honest part.
most consultants
won't say this.
The honest part

The reason most small businesses gave up on AI in 2025 isn't that the tech doesn't work. It's that they paid an "agency" five grand for a stack of apps duct-taped together that broke the first time a customer typed something unexpected.

— The pattern I keep watching repeat
// 01

You bought tools, not solutions.

An AI agency sold you a stack of subscriptions you don't understand. When something breaks, you're locked in and waiting on support tickets.

// 02

Real customers broke it.

The demo worked. Real customers don't behave like demos. Now your "AI receptionist" books appointments at 3am on Christmas and your front desk has to apologize on Monday.

// 03

You don't own anything.

Stop paying the retainer and the system disappears. You're renting your own operations from someone else.

The difference

Off-the-shelf vs. built for you.

Same business problem. Two completely different approaches.

Typical agency build I won't build this.

What I build

Three things, done extremely well.

I don't pretend to do everything. These are the three systems that pay for themselves the fastest, built from scratch for how you actually operate.

01

AI Receptionist

A 24/7 voice and text agent that answers calls, qualifies leads, and books straight into your scheduler. Speaks your business's language — not generic AI-speak.

Real example: Dental practice in Fall River. 47 after-hours calls captured in month one. 31 became appointments.
02

Lead-Response Engine

Instant, contextual replies to every form submission, missed call, or DM — within 60 seconds, in your voice, every time. Most leads decide who to hire within an hour. Most small businesses respond in three days.

Real example: Real estate broker. Lead-to-tour rate climbed from 9% to 28% in six weeks.
03

Operations Bots

Custom workflow automations — anything from no-show reduction texts to invoice reminders to customer-onboarding sequences. Built around your actual process, not a template.

Real example: HVAC company. Cut 11 hours/week of admin work. Owner takes Fridays off now.
The cost of doing nothing

What's it actually costing you?

Move the sliders. We'll calculate roughly what missed leads, calls, and follow-ups are draining from your business every month.

Estimated revenue lost
$5,850
per month, every month
That's $70,200 annually. A $2,400 build pays for itself in 12 days.

An AI receptionist that captures these conversations starts at $2,400, one-time. Most clients break even in 30–60 days.

I'm sorry you're in pain — let's get you seen. We do take new patients. Are you having sharp pain, dull pain, or sensitivity to hot or cold?

Caller

Sharp. It's been two days.

That sounds urgent. Dr. Patel keeps a 9 AM emergency slot Monday for situations like this. Should I put you in?

Justin at his desk in New Bedford
that's me, mid-Chippi 🔥
Who's actually behind this

Hey, I'm Justin.

I write code from a converted spare bedroom in New Bedford, Massachusetts, usually in the quiet hours of the morning. Sometimes from the corner of Society Coffee in the South End, or Mirasol's, when the WiFi at home is being a pain.

I spent a decade as a software engineer at companies you'd recognize before I noticed something obvious: the small businesses I knew personally (dental practices in Dartmouth, real estate brokers in Fairhaven, HVAC companies in Acushnet) were getting fleeced by AI "agencies" selling them flimsy app-stitched systems for $4–10k that broke within 90 days.

So I started JusCoding to do it the right way: real code, written for your specific business, owned by you. No retainers required. No vendor lock-in. No "account managers." If you hire me, you talk to me.

AI automation is the main practice. When clients need it, I also do custom web development and SEO to get your front page for the same kinds of small businesses, with the same philosophy. Hire one. Hire all three. I'll tell you which ones you actually need.

How it works

Three steps. No surprises.

Tell me about one bottleneck in your business. We'll diagnose it together — no pitch, no hard sell, no "discovery process."

this is the part nobody else does

Live demo, customized to your business

While we're talking, I'll pull up a working version of one automation so you can see — and hear — how it'd handle situations from your business. Real interactions, your actual scenarios. You leave with a clear picture of what we'd build and a 1-page roadmap.

I deliver it in 7–14 days

If you want me to build the full system, I quote a flat fee, deliver in two weeks, and hand you the keys. No retainers required.

Common objections

Things people actually ask.

If you just want to know what's worth automating in your business, the $200 audit is the cheapest way to get a real answer (and applies as credit toward a build if you hire me). Custom builds run $2,400 to $7,500 as a one-time flat fee, depending on complexity. Bespoke multi-system projects are quoted after we scope together. There are no required retainers; optional ongoing support is $200–$400/month, cancellable anytime.
By the end of our 20-minute call, you've seen the system running live and have a 1-page roadmap of exactly what to build. The full custom build ships in 7 to 14 days for most projects. I'm not interested in 3-month "discovery phases."
Yes — and that's the point. The system runs on your accounts (your phone number, your scheduler, your CRM) and I document everything in plain English. If something breaks, you can either ping me or hand the codebase to any developer on Earth. You're not locked in.
For 80% of business needs, off-the-shelf apps are fine — for the first month. Then a customer says something weird, an app's pricing changes, or you want to tweak something, and the whole stack falls apart. Custom-built starts slightly slower and ages dramatically better. You also pay for it once instead of every month, forever.
Yes. I work with small businesses across the South Coast — Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Acushnet, Mattapoisett, Westport, Marion, Wareham, Fall River — and the wider Southeastern Massachusetts area. I prioritize MA businesses because I can meet you in person if it matters. Outside New England, everything happens over Zoom. I won't take on more work than I can ship myself — there's no team here, just me.
Then you don't hire me. You walk away with a 1-page roadmap and a clear picture of what's possible. The 20 minutes were free. I'd rather lose the deal than push a system on someone who isn't sure.
